Taylor-Thomason Insurance in Tacoma

Producer & Owner

Email

Tom grew up in north Tacoma, about three blocks from the University of Puget Sound, just three blocks from where his mother grew up in 1915. As a child he rode his tricycle around his father’s office desk in the basement of their home while his Dad worked to grow the business. Tom began learning insurance terminology around eight years old and started assisting with his father’s files at age 14. During his college years at the University of Washington, Tom majored in Risk and Insurance. He spent his college summers meeting with clients and entered the family business full-time in August of 1965. He now has over 49 years in the insurance business. “It has been a great career,” he said. Tom enjoys the opportunity to help clients understand their insurance needs, to calm their financial concerns, and even more importantly, to help with any claims that might develop. Basically we are only selling peace of mind. To the extent that we can assure our clients that they have the proper coverage at a proper price, he feels he’s met his goals and objectives. Tom is not a specialist in any one particular area of insurance but takes pride in being well versed on all insurance coverage. More particularly, he can help clients analyze their risk to find what risks they wish to either insure, assume, or avoid. “I’d say that is my specialty, helping with that analysis.” Tom enjoys water skiing, running, and hiking, especially when the sun is shining. He and his wife recently celebrated 45 years of marriage and are proud parents and grandparents. In his spare time, Tom volunteers on boards for the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties and MultiCare Health Systems. Each month, he also takes photos for Kiwanis “Terrific Kids'” elementary school program as well.

She resides in Pierce County now. In search of a better job than being a waitress at a small café, at 18 years old Peggy visited the office next door which happened to be an Independent Insurance Agency. In 1979, Peggy earned her Property/Casualty agents’ license. Then in 1996, she became a Property/Casualty Broker. Peggy has been in the insurance industry for 44 years now. Her primary focus has been property and casualty insurance for commercial and business clients. “Every day is different and challenging in a new way in the Insurance Industry,” she says, “keeping it fresh and interesting. My first love is helping others and by being an insurance interpreter, as I often refer to myself, is one way I do that.” Peggy enjoys camping with her husband and his horses. Whenever possible, they visit with their 16 Grandchildren. Family is very important to Peggy. In her spare time, you may find her cooking, crocheting or reading a good novel.

 Email

Morgan Marlow has rejoined our team. She began her career by answering an ad for a receptionist on Craigslist but insurance sucked her in and now she has been in the industry for ten years. She grew up in Gig Harbor. She has a five year old son who tags around wherever she goes. Together they go on random road trips, visit the beach, camp and have awesome living room dance parties. Outside of work she enjoys drinking wine and spending time in nature with her son and their pet. She volunteers for Relay for Life and is very passionate about early childhood education and literacy. Her future plans? She would like to sell everything, buy an island, secede and become her own sovereign nation and eventually colonize the moon. We are happy to have her in the office!

Gloria has been in the insurance industry since 1976 beginning as a receptionist. She worked at three agencies before she became an agent at A.E Long Insurance in 1986. After leaving A.E Long, Gloria worked at a few other agencies before finally slowing down and becoming a part-time receptionist. Due to the fact that she did not want to work full time, she came back to A.E Long this year to see if there was an opening-and the rest is history! Gloria has two daughters, four granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson. She loves her Pomeranian, Miss Dixie, who she rescued in 2012. Her hobbies include yard work and making Seahawk scarves to sell or give to family and friends. We are glad to have you with us Gloria!
